Can you stop a foreclosure in Texas? Cure the default, or get the lender to pull the posting. Hope does not do either. We do not stop the sale either. We buy the house.
If you still own it, a sale is an out you still control. After the trustee sells it, that out is gone. People ask for a last-minute halt because they are not ready to admit they are selling. The calendar does not care. Fort Bend still calls it on the first Tuesday.
If you want to keep the house, that is a workout or a cure — start with who to call for free help. If you want out, we buy. Cash if the payoff works. A short sale if you owe more than it will sell for.
Notice date. Loan. House. Talk about selling. Can I sell a house in foreclosure in Texas?
What the statute actually says
The statute that runs the sale is Property Code § 51.002. You stop it by curing the default in the time the notices give you, or by getting the lender to pull the posting. Hope is not in that section. We are not in that section either. We buy the house.
For a residence, the servicer must give at least 20 days to cure before the 21-day notice of sale — § 51.002(d). If you want to keep the house, that cure or workout is free help. If you want out, a purchase while you still have title is the out you still control.
Statute links are the official text. This site is not a law firm. We buy houses. We do not give legal advice.
We do not stop a foreclosure sale. We are the buyer, not your agent.
