Is this house in foreclosure?

A house is in the foreclosure sale process when the county clerk has a notice of sale on file. The notice names the street, the county, and the sale date. That posting is what “in foreclosure” means on this site.

The notice does not move title. The owner still owns the house until the trustee sells it. A posted date means the notice is already inside the filing window. It does not mean the trustee has already sold the house.

Check the street against clerk notices already published here. The check does not look up the owner. If we have no page, the notice can still be on the county clerk’s own list. That clerk list is the record.

The sale calendar and the 21-day filing rule are on The Texas sale date is real. The paper is the notice of sale. Streets already posted are on the public foreclosure sales list. The current month is this sale. Older months are archive. They are not houses we are offering.

If the house is yours and you want to sell to us before that date, this is a purchase. We may buy for cash, or with a bank-approved short payoff, and we say which one before anyone signs. How a short sale purchase runs is that page. How we buy is the short version. We are not your agent, lawyer, or a housing counselor. A call does not stop the sale.

If you want to keep the house, start with who to call on Houston Foreclosure Help. The longer homeowner explanation is on their Texas process page.
